Uwe Nester (born January 16, 1958 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Nester played in the youth of BSC Braunschweig and one year in the district league . In 1978 he moved to Eintracht Braunschweig . In his first season 1978/79 he came exclusively in the league, with the amateurs for use. Nester succeeded in adapting to the higher game operations very well. The striker scored 21 of the 50 goals his team scored. This made him not only the top scorer of his team, but also the top scorer in the Oberliga Nord, ahead of Hans-Peter Gummlich from TSR Olympia Wilhelmshaven . At the end of the season there was not only Nester's personal success, but also the negative balance of his team. Braunschweig landed level on points with Wilhelmshaven on 17th and thus penultimate place in the table. Wilhelmshaven had the better goal difference and thus Nester rose with the unity. Despite the relegation, Nester, who had recommended himself for more due to his scoring qualities, went up. He was on the Bundesliga team of coach Heinz Lucas . He made his debut on the 4th matchday in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt in the 81st minute of the game. The game was lost 2: 3 and Nester had to wait a long time for his next bet. The season did not go well for Braunschweig and so responsibility on the sidelines switched to Uli Maslo . The nest started seven more times, one of which was over 90 minutes. Maslo did not succeed in turning things around in Braunschweig either. The Eintracht was nine points behind a non-relegation place last. It was Nester's second descent with two different Brunswick teams in two years. In the following season, Nester played ten games in the 2nd Bundesliga , none of which lasted the full game. Braunschweig scored 102 goals in 42 league games. Nester did not contribute. Behind SV Werder Bremen , second place was taken in the northern relay. This place entitled to the relegation round against the second of the southern season, Kickers Offenbach . Braunschweig prevailed (first leg 0: 1; second leg 2: 0) and rose. Nester did not get a chance and accepted an offer from the Spanish second division club FC Elche . After a short time he moved to Hong Kong, but quickly returned to Germany. He was under contract with Hannover 96 , but did not get a chance due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. He moved to the upper league for MTV Gifhorn , where he ended his active time as a football player at the age of 27.

In 2007, Nester hit the headlines again when he confessed to taking Captagon and accused his former coaches Maslo and Heinz Patzig of inciting him to doping. Maslo took legal action against this accusation, whereupon Nester, who could not prove his statements, was sentenced to a fine of 5000 euros or five days in prison. However, he persisted in his accusations and in 2009 preferred the prison sentence, which he served in Detmold correctional facility .
