The prison Detmold is a prison of the closed train full of men in Detmold in Detmold in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

Construction began in 1958, and the institute was put into operation in 1961. The institution was built in a double atrium construction. In the 1960s and 1970s , the institution was repeatedly increased . In 1984 the construction work to add floors to the main building was completed. In 1986 the renovation work on the gate and the administration building was completed. In 2003, after renovation work, a social therapy department with 15 prison places was set up. Since 2007 there has been a department with 22 places for prisoners older than 62 years.

A previous facility of today's penal institution was previously housed in the current building of the Detmold Labor and Social Court , which was built as a penal building.

Jurisdiction

The Detmold prison is responsible for the execution of:

Pretrial detention , extradition and transit detention for adults

Civil and criminal arrest

Imprisonment ( standard execution ) from three months up to and including two years

Imprisonment of more than two years according to the result of the admission procedure

Imprisonment of more than 24 months up to and including 48 months for foreigners

Social Therapy Department.

The local jurisdiction essentially extends to the district court of Detmold .
