Uwe Peter Zimmer (born September 6, 1951 in Reichenbach im Vogtland ) is a specialist book author and co-author in the field of construction technology and building material testing . As a professional film producer , he produced around 160 films for training and further education at universities , colleges and vocational colleges .

Life

Uwe Peter Zimmer was born the son of a detective and a dental technician in Reichenbach in the Vogtland. After fleeing across the GDR border to the West, together with his mother, Zimmer grew up in Mülheim an der Ruhr . After graduating from high school, he studied at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Essen with a degree in engineering.

Professionally, he initially worked as a construction engineer in the building department of the State Materials Testing Office of North Rhine-Westphalia ( MPA ) in Dortmund . He then spent twelve years as a senior engineer and concrete technologist at a company in the concrete industry, including around five years in Iraq and Saudi Arabia . For one year he worked on behalf of the United Nations ( UNIDO ) as a government advisor in Turkey for the cement industry. In 1993 Zimmer founded his own company, an independent engineering office for construction and building materials consulting.

In addition to writing non-fiction books in the field of construction technology and building material testing, he has written and produced around 150 scripts for image films, advertising films and educational films in the construction sector from 1994 to the present day.

Zimmer has two children from his first marriage and has been married for a second time since 1992.
