Václav Vich
Václav Vich (born January 19, 1898 in Karlsbad , † September 14, 1966 in Rome ) was a Czechoslovakian cameraman .
Vich trained as a photographer and worked as a photo reporter in his unit during the First World War. After the war he was in Prague camera assistant of Otto Heller .
At the beginning of the 1920s he was involved as a simple cameraman in several films, since 1925 he worked as a chief cameraman. Vich first gained international attention with the soft focus melodrama erotic .
From 1934 he became an internationally sought-after cameraman who shot in Germany, Austria, France and Sweden. From 1936 he worked mainly in Italy and was involved in numerous romances, adventure and period films. In 1947 he received the Italian film prize Nastro d'Argento for Daniele Cortis .
In the 1950s he worked repeatedly in the Federal Republic of Germany. The most significant of these were the scandalous success Die Sünderin and the award-winning production Nachts auf den Straßen , both with Hildegard Knef , and Peter Lorre's production The Lost .
