Víctor de la Fuente ( April 12, 1927 - July 2, 2010 ) was a Spanish cartoonist .

Life

Víctor de la Fuente came from a Spanish family of draftsmen. His artistic career began in the 1940s and 50s in South and North America as a draftsman and illustrator in the advertising industry. Back in Europe he devoted himself mainly to drawing comics. In the following years he designed war comics for magazines such as Battle Picture Library , War Picture Library , Lion (all Fleetway) and Commando War Stories in Pictures (DC Thomson) for the publishers Fleetway (England) and DC Thomson (Scotland ). A total of around 5000 comic pages are said to have been created here.

In 1967 de la Fuente met Víctor Mora , with whom he realized the series Sunday (1968–1970) and Les Anges d'acier (1984–1989) as well as several individual titles. In addition, both took part in the Larousse series Histoire de France en bandes dessinées in 1976 . For this 24-part series with a total of 48 stories about the history of France, Mora and de la Fuente created four stories (contained in the original volumes 1, 4, 9 and 12).

De la Fuente worked with Jean-Michel Charlier and Guy Vidal in the western series Die Gringos . There was also a collaboration with François Corteggiani , Alejandro Jodorowsky and Patrick Cothias .

From 1992 de la Fuente worked for Bonelli's Tex Willer series. For the special series Speciale Tex he drew the volume Fiamme sull'Arizona . For the special series Almanacco del West , the band La carovana della paura was added in 1995 . Finally, from 1997, de la Fuente also worked for the main series. Two volumes were created here in 1997, 1998 and 2000 (original volumes 441/442, 456/457 and 471/472). In all cases, the scenarioist was Claudio Nizzi .
