Vüqar Aslanov (also: Vougar Aslanov ; * 1964 in Goranboy , Azerbaijani SSR ) is an Azerbaijani writer .

life and work

After graduating from school, Vüqar Aslanov studied literature at Baku University from 1982 to 1983 and from 1985 to 1990 . From 1983 to 1985 he was a soldier in the Soviet Army . From 1990 he worked for several newspapers in Baku . In 1995 he founded the literary magazine Kompas , and in 1996 the information agency Samt . Several prose books were published in Baku in the 1990s. The Roman Division and numerous short stories were published by publishers and literary magazines in Saint Petersburg and Saratov .

Aslanov has lived in Germany since 1998. He first studied Slavic Philology , Theater and Film Studies at the Universities of Mainz , Giessen and Frankfurt am Main .

Aslanov has been working as a freelance writer and journalist since 2000 . He published in newspapers such as Frankfurter Neue Presse , Frankfurter Rundschau , Neues Deutschland , taz , Salzburger Nachrichten , Thüringer Allgemeine , Volksstimme , Schweriner Volkszeitung and the magazine for international perspectives on cultural exchange .

In 2007, Wostok Verlag published the volume of short stories Auf den Cottonfeldern , and in 2012 the novel The belated column .

Vüqar Aslanov lives in Frankfurt am Main.
