Vărd ( German  Werd , Hungarian Vérd ) is a Transylvanian village in Sibiu County in Romania . The village belongs to the municipality of Chirpăr ( Kirchberg ). It was first mentioned in a document in 1317.

location

Vărd is located about 4.2 kilometers southwest of Agnita (as the crow flies) in the Harbach highlands at an average altitude of 435 meters above sea level. It has a traffic connection to Agnita ( Agnethlen ) and the southwestern village of Kirchberg via the DJ 105D district road .

population

In 2002 the population of Vărd was 348. 275 of them were Romanians , 60 were Roma , 11 Hungarians and two of them were Romanian Germans .
