society
The VSV Havel Oranienburg emerged in 1997 from the volleyball section of the Oranienburg gymnastics club (TVO). In 1999 the club joined the state game operations in Brandenburg. With around 180 members in seven women's and two men's teams as well as several youth and leisure teams , the club is the fifth largest sports club in the district after the soccer clubs Oranienburger FC Eintracht and TuS 1896 Sachsenhausen, the handball third division team Oranienburger HC and the multi-part SV Athletik Oranienburg.
Since the 2012/13 season, the club's first women's team played in the Regionalliga Nordost. Since then it has been the top-class volleyball team in the Oberhavel district. In the same year the club won the state cup of the state of Brandenburg and thus took part in the cup of the regional play area Northeast. Here they were only defeated in the final of the reserve of the Bundesliga club Köpenicker SC in the tie-break and thus just missed the entry into the main round of the DVV Cup . The 2013/14 season closed the team with second place in the table and thus rose to the third division north after the waiver of the table first SG Rotation Prenzlauer Berg . While the first third division season of the club was finished in 8th place, they landed in the second season on the 2nd place in the table. In 2017 , the team became champions of the Third League North and won the Brandenburg State Cup again. The club was able to repeat this success in 2019 and also finished the season in second place in the 3rd Northern League.
Well-known players like the former junior national player Michaela Sabrowske, the former national player Kathleen Weiß , the multiple German champion Julia Rienhoff and the former U18 and U23 European champion in beach volleyball Frederike Fischer were and still are in the team's squad . The team was trained temporarily by the German champion and former BR Volleys professional Ricardo Galandi . Former Bundesliga player Raphael Döring has been training the team since June 2020.
The club's first men's team temporarily entered into a syndicate with Kremmener SV and played from 2011 to 2015 under the name Kremmener Havel SV in the state class north of Brandenburg. The men ended the 2013/14 season in third place in the table and were promoted to the Landesliga Nord. Since the syndicate with Kremmener SV was dissolved again for the 2015/16 season, VSV Havel remained in the national class. The club's second women's team played in the Landesliga Nord in the 2015/16 season.
