Valérie Lang
Valérie Lang (born March 24, 1966 in France - † July 22, 2013 in Paris ) was a French actress with character roles in film, television and theater. She was considered a versatile theater actress and also starred in several cinema productions in the 1990s and 2000s, including An Affair in Paris , The Beautiful Girl , The Father of My Children and Accomplices .
life and career
Valérie Lang was born in 1966 as the youngest daughter of Jack Lang , who later became French Minister of Culture . Caroline (* 1961) is her older sister. From 1989 to 1992 she trained as an actress at the Parisian CNSAD in the class of Jean-Pierre Vincent. From 1992 to 1998 she was a permanent member of the Nordey Almond theater group . From 1998 to 2001 she was director of the Théâtre Gérard Philipe alongside Stanislas Nordey .
Valérie Lang played her first film role in 1995 in James Ivory's historical drama Jefferson in Paris . In 2003 it was again director James Ivory who cast her in his comedy An Affair in Paris . 2008 and 2009, then roles followed in French dramas as in Christophe Honoré's The beautiful girl in Mia Hansen-loves The father of my children , or in the thriller complicity by director Frédéric Mermoud.
Her last appearance on television was in Josée Dayan's production La mauvaise rencontre in 2011 .
Valérie Lang died on July 22, 2013 at the age of 47 from complications from cancer.
