action
After her mother's death, 16-year-old Junie moves to live with her aunt in Paris. Her cousin Matthias immediately introduces her to his circle of friends and soon the beautiful student is entangled in a complicated network of friendship, love and secrets. Her Italian teacher Nemours is so fascinated by her beauty that he secretly falls in love with her. For this reason, he also ended his simultaneous relationships with the history teacher Florence and the student Marie. To everyone's surprise, the shy outsider Otto gets the chance to win Junie's heart. Apart from the fact that she occasionally behaves strangely cool towards him, it is evidently a close friendship.
During the language class and other brief encounters with Nemours, Junie senses his interest and feelings without his ever having expressed them, and therefore tries to avoid him. She is even considering changing her place of residence and thus also the school in order to prevent her from reciprocating his love in time. But the tide is turning. Ultimately, she doesn't have the strength to evade Nemours' desires. Contrary to her declared intentions, she suddenly seeks his presence. Otto finds out about this and, out of jealousy, throws himself off the balustrade of the school building to his death.
Since Junie Nemours is absent from classes, he takes 6 months off sick leave. He doesn't want to stand in the way of the education of his loved ones. Nevertheless, one day he follows her on the way home. He can't resist Junie's attraction. She drifts with him for a few hours. Then she immediately falls back into her usual melancholy, with the certainty that their love for both of them will not last forever. Because the attractive Nemours is sought after by many women. She does not appear at the next agreed meeting. She has now implemented her plan to leave Paris because of Nemours.
