Val Peat
Val Peat (actually Valerie Peat, nee Wild; born April 30, 1947 in Thurnscoe , South Yorkshire , † May 14, 1997 ) was a British sprinter .
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, she reached the semi-finals over 100 m .
In 1969 she won bronze over 200 m at the European Athletics Championships in Athens and with the British team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . She was fourth over 100 m .
At the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 she was fourth in the 100 m and won silver with the English 4 x 100 meter relay. In 1971 she was eliminated from the European Championships in Helsinki over 100 m in the preliminary run and was sixth with the British 4 x 100 meter relay.
In 1968 she became the English champion over 100 m and 200 m.
