The highest point of the valley floor is at the 1.5 kilometer long lake Lej da Vadret at an altitude of 2160 meters, the lowest point is southeast of the Pontresina train station at an altitude of 1770 meters.

At the end of the valley on the northern slope of the Bernina Group lies the Roseg Glacier , to the east of it the Piz Roseg .

Alpine farming and tourism

There are two Alps in the valley: Alp Prüma (first Alp) and Alp Seguonda (second Alp).

The Val Roseg is largely untouched, car-free and is only used gently for tourism, hiking, cross-country skiing, etc. The hotel and excursion restaurant “Roseg Gletscher” is located at an altitude of 1999 meters. Here a mountain hiking trail leads over the Fuorcla Surlej into the Engadine .

The Coazhütte , a mountain hut of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC), is located at the back of the valley at an altitude of 2610  m above sea level. M. above the Lej da Vadret. In summer, the hut can be reached in around 3 hours on a mountain hiking trail from the middle station of the Corvatsch cable car via Fuorcla Surlej .
