As a 15-year-old, Giraud took part in FIS races and national junior races from December 2007 , initially primarily in the giant slalom and slalom disciplines . In 2009 he took part in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Szczyrk , but did not finish in his two races. The first appearances in the European Cup followed in January 2010, initially without any significant success. Gradually he began to focus on the fast disciplines. The first point win in a European Cup race he succeeded in January 2012. At the end of March 2012, he caused a surprise with a third place in the French downhill championship.
After Giraud finished in the top ten in a European Cup race for the first time in mid-January 2013, he won the giant slalom of the French Junior Championships a month later. At the Junior World Championships in 2013 he won the bronze medal in the downhill. On November 30, 2013 he made his debut in the World Cup , where he was eliminated in the downhill from Lake Louise . He won his first World Cup points on December 20, 2013 on the Saslong in Val Gardena , finishing 26th in the Super-G. In the following two years he achieved only sporadic results in the points.

After his injury, he made his comeback on November 24, 2018 in Lake Louise on the descent. In the 2019/20 European Cup , he won the downhill classification, to which, among other things, his first European Cup victory on February 28, 2020 in the downhill from Kvitfjell contributed.
