Valentin Schäfer (born May 28, 1882 in Dörnbach , † February 20, 1938 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German politician (SPD).

After attending elementary school from 1888 to 1895, Schäfer learned the mason trade. He married in 1911. In 1914 he became an employee of the German construction workers' association in Saarbrücken.

As a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany , Schäfer held office from June 1914 to 1920 as chairman of the SPD party group in the Saarbrücken constituency and then as chairman of the Social Democratic Party of the Saar area . During the November Revolution of 1918 he became chairman of the workers 'and soldiers' council in Saarbrücken and a delegate at the Reichsrätekongress .

From January 1919 to June 1920, Schäfer was a representative of constituency 21 (Koblenz and Trier administrative district) in the Weimar National Assembly . From 1921 to 1924 he was still a member of the Prussian state parliament , after which he increasingly withdrew from politics.
