The influx was increased by the boom in the aviation industry, which was also located in the San Fernando Valley, during the Second World War . It was also around this time that the Valley's first synagogue was established on land known as Valley Glen .

In order to meet the needs of the growing population of the San Fernando Valley, the Los Angeles Valley College was founded in 1949 , which in 1951 then moved to today's campus in what is now Valley Glen. In 1968 North Hollywood was split by the construction of the Hollywood Freeway, the present Valley Glen was now separated from the rest of North Hollywood.

There was finally a referendum to name the separated area after the old Jewish community Valley Glen. This was also followed by an eastern part of Van Nuys . In 2004 the city of Los Angeles recognized the current Valley Glen as an independent district.
