Van Holzen is a German rock band from Ulm .

history

Van Holzen was founded in January 2015 by Florian Kiesling, Jonas Schramm and Daniel Kotitschke from Ulm, who had already played more than 200 concerts with the same line-up since 2009 under the name "Rockfish". At the beginning of 2015, the members signed a contract with the booking agency Sparta Entertainment.

In May 2015, Van Holzen and four other bands managed to participate in the German Music Council's PopCamp funding program . As the winners of the “Play Live” 2015 band promotion award announced by the Stuttgart region in Baden-Württemberg , they were allowed to represent their state in the national competition for young bands Local Heroes 2016 and were also nominated for the New Music Award . They also gained an appearance at the Southside - Music Festival 2016 in Neuhausen ob Eck . In the same year they also appeared at the Halberg - Open Air Festival in Saarbrücken .

The band was subsequently signed by Warner Music , where their first self-titled EP was released in 2016. In 2017 her debut album Anomalie was released , which reached number 48 in the German charts.
