Vanessa Blue (* 27. May 1974 in Long Beach , California as Tanya Faulkner ) is an American porn actress - director and - producer . She also appeared as DominaX .

Career

Vanessa Blue grew up in Beaumont, Texas , later lived in Nebraska and now in California. After high school , she trained as a paramedic . During her training, she worked as a dancer in a bikini bar in Orange County . In 1996 she took her first photos for a bondage company.

In the summer of 1997, Blue met a friend named Kitten, who introduced her to the porn scene. Kitten and Blue filmed their first lesbian scene together in the movie Black Snatch . She then made many more films for a year before retiring to Nebraska for three years to be closer to her family, but soon returned to California. In February 2004 she was photographed in Rolling Stone Magazine during an interview with rapper 50 Cent .

Blue was in a relationship with her colleague Lexington Steele for a number of years and made films for his production company Mercenary Pictures . In 2009, based on mutual lawsuits, the two agreed on a settlement regarding the copyrights of some films. For the US television channel Playboy TV she hosted the show Lex in the City with him .

At the 2005 AVN Awards, Blue became the first African American director to win the Best Ethnic Themed Series award for Black Reign under the stage name "Domina X" .
