The Vanil Carré ( 2197  m above sea level ) is one of the highest mountain peaks in the Friborg Prealps in Switzerland . The rocky knoll rises north of La Vausseresse ( 1643  m above sea level ), the headwaters of the Rivière des Tenasses . Together with the Vanil Noir, it is part of the mountain ridge over which the border between the cantons of Friborg and Vaud runs. The municipal boundaries of Château-d'Oex , Grandvillard and Haut-Intyamon meet on the Vanil Carré .

The Vanil Carré belongs to the competent limestone of the Préalpes médianes plastiques . There are also typical karst phenomena in the region , for example, below the Vanil Carré in La Vausseresse there are distinctive carts .
