Vassy (born March 15, 1983 in Darwin , real name Vasiliki Karagiorgos ) is an Australian singer and actress of Greek descent, who was best known for the song Bad together with David Guetta and Showtek .

life and career

Her parents were both from Florina , a municipality and city in the northern Greek administrative region of Western Macedonia . In 2003, she won a talent show of the Australian radio station Triple J . She first gained international attention with her song Wanna Fly . This was heard in several TV series and sitcoms, especially from the USA , but also in computer games such as The Sims 2 and FIFA 08 . The song We Are Young , released in 2012, became even more successful and used in many TV commercials.

In 2014 she worked with the French DJ David Guetta and the Dutch producer duo Showtek . The result was the electro house song Bad , which reached high chart positions in many countries, including top 10 positions in Australia, Belgium and France, among others. Together with the German musician trio Scooter , the songs Today and Radiate were released at the end of 2014 . With Today she made it into the German single charts a second time. In February 2015 she released the track Secrets with the Dutch DJ and producer Tiësto and the producer KSHMR alias The Cataracs, who was well known in the EDM scene at the time, with which the trio stormed the charts in Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden, among others . In the summer of 2015, there was another collaboration with Showtek under the title Satisfield and collaboration with the German DJ duo Bodybangers .

Since 2013 she has also been in front of the camera as an actress. She played Elena in 2013's Angelenos and made a cameo in the 2014 film Altered Reality .
