Synthesis of CI Vat Yellow 4

use

CI Vat Yellow 4 is a viscous orange liquid, which as a vat dye for dyeing of cotton , wool , and cellulose acetate is used. It reacts with reducing agents to form an almost colorless leuco compound , which is reoxidized to the colored compound after application to the substrate to be colored.

The dibromo derivative of Vat Yellow 4 is also used as a vat dye under the name Vat Orange 1 .
