Vedat Inceefe (born April 1, 1974 in Bandırma , Balikesir Province ) is a former Turkish football player and coach . With the Turkish national team he took part in the European Championship in 1996 and played all three of his team's games as a second division player.

Player career

society

The defender began his football career in the youth department of Beşiktaş Istanbul . In 1993 he left Beşiktaş and hired the then third division club Soma Sotesspor . After a year he moved one league higher to the second division Demir Çelik Karabükspor . Here he was noticed by the then national coach Fatih Terim , who nominated him as an unknown second division player without previous international experience in the squad of the Turkish national team for the 1996 European Football Championship . Here he played in the regular team straight away and was one of the few players who could convince during the tournament.

After the tournament, Terim Galatasaray took over Istanbul and initiated the move from İnceefe to his new place of work. Here he spent most of his career and also celebrated his greatest successes. In 2000 they won the European Supercup with Galatasaray Istanbul. In 2003 he moved to Vestel Manisaspor , where he ended his professional career after three years.

Coaching career

After the end of his playing career, İnceefe decided on a coaching career. His first job was the third division club Yeni Malatyaspor in the 2010/11 season . He left this club at the end of 2011. For the new season he took over the capital club Bugsaş Spor . He left this club after eight weeks.

İnceefe started working for the youth department of his former club Galatasaray Istanbul in the summer of 2013 and looked after the U-19 team. After his sponsor Fatih Terim was unexpectedly dismissed from his position as head coach of Galatasaray in autumn 2013 , İnceefe strongly criticized the club's president Ünal Aysal and also announced his resignation.

After the separation, Terim took over the Turkish national team as head coach and brought İnceefe to his assistant staff in 2014. In early 2014 he was appointed head coach of the U-19 national team. He also worked from March 16, 2015 to July 31, 2018 as assistant coach of the Turkish senior team under the head coaches Terim (27 games) and Mircea Lucescu (11 games). In August 2018 he was named head coach of the Turkish U-21 national team.
