The Veit-Stoss-Realschule is a municipal Realschule in Nuremberg , which is named after the Nuremberg sculptor and carver Veit Stoss .

founding

In order to do justice to the growing number of pupils, the Veit-Stoss-Realschule was opened on September 1, 1965 as the second municipal Realschule after the Peter-Vischer-Schule . The school initially used the school building at Gibitzenhofstrasse 151 under the name Realschule Süd , before it was named after Veit Stoss in the first school year. In the same year, the city's language laboratory was set up.

Relocation and expansion

Since the school had to cope with the growing number of pupils again and an extension could not be financed, the school moved to the school complex at Merseburger Strasse 4 in the Schoppershof district on September 7, 1967 and built a branch school in the schoolhouse at Lutherplatz 4. January 1969 was expanded to the independent Adam-Kraft-Realschule . In 1972 and 1985, the persistent lack of space led to the move to extension buildings on the Schoppershof site, although four additional classrooms were already available in September 1979 when the primary school classes moved into the Bismarck School .

offer

At the Veit-Stoss-Realschule the courses of the elective subjects groups I, II and III are offered. In addition, the Nuremberg Abendrealschule, founded in 1956, was added to the school in 1981 and supplemented with upper-level courses in 1987, so that it is also possible to complete the second educational path here . The school is also part of the School without Racism - School with Courage network and also maintains a close cooperation with the Nuremberg Museum Bionicum as an extracurricular learning location for the MINT subjects.
