The Johann-Pachelbel-Realschule is the third state secondary school in Nuremberg and named after the Nuremberg composer Johann Pachelbel .

history

The Johann-Pachelbel-Realschule emerged from the Peter-Henlein-Realschule and was initially launched as a branch school in the school year 2010/11, before becoming the independent third state secondary school in Nuremberg in the school year 2012/13. The classrooms were initially located in the Birkenwald School at Herriedener Str. 25 and the neighboring Robert Bosch Middle School at Herriedener Str. 29 in the Röthenbach district , before moving into a new transition building in Hansapark near the Nuremberg TV tower in April . Since July 1, 2013, the school has had the official name "Johann-Pachelbel-Realschule, Staatliche Realschule Nürnberg III." The fourth floor of the transitional quarter was expanded again by the 2014/15 school year, before moving to the 2017/18 school year The school complex on Rothenburger Strasse, which was completed between 2015 and 2017, moved.

offer

At the Johann-Pachelbel-Realschule the courses of the elective subject groups I, II, IIIa and IIIb (music) are offered. Since the 2015/16 school year, it has been one of 17 Bavarian secondary schools in the SPRINT pilot project ("intensive language support"), in which a class was set up for intensive language support for students with little knowledge of German. The building on Rothenburger Straße is also home to the Staatliche Fachoberschule II as an independent school on the second floor, so that it is also possible to complete the second educational path here .

In the 2015 tender for the construction of the school complex on Rothenburger Straße in the form of a public-private partnership , the design by the architects Lederer Ragnarsdóttir Oei in cooperation with the construction company Georg Reisch GmbH & Co. KG emerged as the winner. They already carried out the construction of the Ravensburger Art Museum , which was awarded the German Sustainability Prize in 2013 . The new building, in which natural, durable and repairable building materials were used, has a brick facade , which is intended to create physical and visual sustainability, and is green on the roof . With the exception of the entrance hall, the floor of which is made of natural stone , and the steps in the foyer of the music hall, which are covered with wood , linoleum is used as flooring in the rest of the building for reasons of sustainability and ease of care . Furthermore, the windows were made of a wood-aluminum construction, doors and cabinets made of wood building materials and walls and ceilings either plastered, left visible or merely treated with color.

In the H-shaped building complex there is an entrance hall, an auditorium and a music hall as well as multi-purpose rooms on the ground floor of the connecting wing, and a library, all-day rooms and an IT area on the upper floors. All rooms are arranged around an air space designed as an atrium , in which the main access takes place. In the north wing of the building, oriented towards Rothenburger Straße , there is the cafeteria on the ground floor, while cross-school specialist teaching takes place on the upper floors. The normal classrooms of the Realschule are located on the ground floor and first floor of the south wing, the technical college is located on the second floor. The complex also includes two square structures that open to the east and west. The eastern one is supposed to function as a publicly perceived entrance area, while the western one is supposed to be the school's own playground and also offer space for music and theater events.

The gross floor area is approximately 21,490 square meters and the usable area is 15,885 square meters. The construction costs amounted to around 52.5 million euros; the construction time was around two years.
