The Velebit lady's mantle is a fairly vigorous, medium-sized plant. Stems and petioles are not reddened. The stem is upright to short ascending, 5 to 25 inches long and 1.2 to 4 times as long as the leaf stalks.

The leaf blades of the basal leaves are 1.5 to 8 centimeters wide and are flat, kidney-shaped to circular, usually incised up to 100% of the radius (individual leaves can only be incised up to 70%) and 225 to 375 ° wide . The leaflets are two to four times as long as wide, obverse-shaped to lanceolate or linear, rounded to truncated, folded to flat and 55 to 80% of the length without teeth. The upper side of the leaves is dull and yellow-green to gray-green, the underside thickly silky-white and silky. There are 5 to 9 (rarely up to 14) teeth on the leaflets. These are 0.7 to 3 millimeters long (which corresponds to about 4 to 10% of the radius of the blade), 0.5 to 5 millimeters wide, parallel to tilting, clearly visible and pointed. The end tooth is shorter. The teeth are 0.3 to 1.5 times as long as they are wide, the end tooth 1.3 to 2.5 times as long.

The inflorescence is very narrow. On its branches there are usually many pseudo-eared partial inflorescences. Most of the flower stalks have bracts at the base. The flower stalks are 1 to 2 millimeters long, with the terminal flowers 2 to 12 millimeters. The flowers are yellow-green, 2 to 5 millimeters long and 3 to 6 millimeters wide. The sepals are finally erect and spreading and 1 to 1.6 times as long as they are wide. The stylus stick out little. 20 to 40% of the length of the nuts protrudes.

Occurrence

The Velebit lady's mantle occurs in the Dalmatian Mountains mainly in Velebit , but also in Bosnia, Herzegovina, Macedonia and Albania and on the southeastern edge of the Alps. In Slovenia, the species can be found in the Julian and Carnic Alps and on the Krainer Schneeberg , the northern limit of the distribution is not yet known exactly. The Velebit lady's mantle grows in fissures of limestone, on stony alpine meadows and on limestone rubble at altitudes of 1000 to 2000 meters.
