Jamie Szantyr (born June 2, 1981 in New Britain , Connecticut ), best known by her ring name Velvet Sky , is an American wrestler who is under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling .

In high school , Szantyr played a variety of sports, including: B. softball , mountain biking and athletics and was active as a cheerleader .

Wrestling career

Independent Leagues (2004-2016)

In high school , Szantyr played a variety of sports, including: B. softball , mountain biking and athletics and was active as a cheerleader . Szantyr completed wrestling training at Jason Knight's House of Pain Pro Wrestling Dojo. After completing training there, she began working as a valet and wrestler in various independent promotions under the ring names Talia Doll and Talia Madison . She founded together with April Hunter , the tag team T & A . On May 29, 2004 , Szantyr won her first title, the WXW Women's Title .

In 2005 and 2006, Szantyr made several appearances with the WWE . In 2007 she took part in the Diva Search , a talent search for female wrestlers for the WWE, but did not make it among the last eight applicants.

As Talia Madison , she won the Defiant Pro Wrestling Women's Title on April 8, 2006 in a Three Way Match against Alere Little Feather and Nikki Roxx . She also worked for Women's Extreme Wrestling (WEW) as Talia Doll, where she and April Hunter earned the WEW Tag Team Title as Tag Team T&A on April 8, 2006 . On May 5, 2007 , Szantyr won the WEW World Women's Title against Angel Orsini .

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2007-2016)

When Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) announced the formation of a women's division in 2007, Szantyr was one of the participants in the 10 Knockouts Gauntlet Match, under the ring name Talia Madison , in which the first TNA Women's Champion was crowned. Gail Kim won the match .

Soon afterwards she founded the wrestling group Velvet-Love Entertainment with Angelina Love , which was later changed to the wrestling table The Beautiful People . Together the two wrestlers became an integral part of TNA.

At Lockdown 2008, Szantyr took part in the first Queen of the Cage match, which was won by Roxxi Laveaux. After losing the Make Over Battle Royal Ladder match against Gail Kim at Sacrifice 2008 , Sky and Love then resorted to humiliations from their opponents, such as putting a painted paper bag over their head or cutting their hair, which they quickly closed became a trademark of the Beautiful People .

On July 17, 2008, Szantyr won a Knockout Battle Royal match, becoming the first challenger to the title of the Women's Knockout Championship . She lost the title match a week later, as did two other title matches soon after against Taylor Wilde .

At Bound for Glory on October 16, 2011, she won the TNA Women's Knockout Championship for the first time in a match against previous title holder Winter , Madison Rayne and Mickie James . On November 13, 2011, Szantyr lost the title to Gail Kim at Turning Point .

On July 26, 2012, she left TNA as her contract expired and was not renewed. In November 2012, Szantyr signed a new contract with TNA and returned to the shows on December 6, 2012. On January 26, 2013, Impact Wrestling Records, she won the TNA Women's Knockout Championship for the second time . She had to hand over the title to Mickie James on May 23, 2013.
