Venø Færgen is a Danish ferry thatoperates onthe ferry route Kleppen - Venø in the Limfjord . Theferry service operatedby Venø Færgefart from the island of Venø to the mainland is the shortest car ferry route in Denmark with a length of 266 m.
history
The ship was ordered on January 28, 2009 from Hvide Sande Skibs- og Bådebyggeri A / S under construction number 122 in Hvide Sande and put into operation on September 1, 2010.
Technical specifications
The ferry can carry up to 75 passengers and 12 passenger cars.
In 2016, the ferry was equipped with 42 batteries, which make it possible to operate almost all of the ferry's electrical equipment. The accumulators are charged in the port. Since then, the auxiliary generators on the ship are only needed at peak times.
If the main motors need to be replaced, it is planned to replace them with electric motors.
