Vera Forsberg

Vera Forsberg (born August 24, 1919 in Sweden ; † May 3, 2010 ) was a Swedish writer . She was best known for her children's books with the photographer Anna Riwkin .

Life

Forsberg first published the book En bil kommer lastad in 1950 . This includes works by Astrid Lindgren , Edith Unnerstad , Britt G. Hallqvist and Alf Henrikson , among others . Astrid Lindgren's story Pippi Långstrump har julgransplundring (German: Pippi plundert the Christmas tree ) was first published in this book. Vera Forsberg later worked with Anna Riwkin-Brick to create the book Gennet from Ethiopia ( Gennet bor i Etiopien ) for the children's book series Children of Our Earth . Anna Riwkin-Brick traveled to Ethiopia in 1964 to take pictures for the book. Vera Forsberg then wrote a story about the photos. The book was published by Rabén & Sjögren in 1967 . This was followed by a publication in Germany, Great Britain, the United States and Israel. The book was reissued in Israel in 2015 after the book series gained media attention through a documentary film series by director Dvorit Shargal. In 1970 Salima from Kashmir ( Salima bor i Kashmir ) was published, the last book in the children's book series Children of Our Earth . This book has also been translated into German, Hebrew and English. In the same year Forsberg worked again with Anna Riwkin-Brick to publish the book FörÄNniskans skull - en bok om familjeplanering . In 1972 the book Majstång och julgran was published about Christmas customs in Sweden. From 1972 to 1987 Vera Forsberg worked with Arne Forsberg and published three books with him. In 1991 the Bokboden publishing house published her book Frun på Hyddan - pionjär på egen hand .
