Divera Maria "Vera" Koedooder (born October 31, 1983 in Hoorn ) is a former Dutch cyclist who was active both on the track and on the road .
Athletic career
Vera Koedooder comes from a family who are enthusiastic about cycling, and as a child she emulated her brother Jos, who was 14 years her senior. In 2000 she became junior world champion in the points race , the following year in the single pursuit . Since then she has won national titles and podium places on the track, in the points race and the single pursuit as well as on the road. In 2002 she became the U23 European champion in the points race and took top places in World Cup races . Koedooder also won the women's competition at the six days in Rotterdam in 2009. Most recently, she was Dutch champion in the Omnium in early 2010 . In 2012 she started the Olympic Games in London and was sixth in the team pursuit with the Dutch team ( Amy Pieters , Ellen van Dijk and Kirsten Wild ) .
Vera Koedooder was able to record numerous victories on the road, such as 2003 and 2008 at the Acht van Chaam , 2008 and 2010 at the Omloop door Middag-Humsterland and 2005 at the Flevotour . In 2013 she won the Grand Prix de Dottignies , the Omloop van Borsele and a stage of the Tour de Bretagne . In 2014 she won a stage of the Energiewacht Tour . In 2016 she ended her cycling career.
After the sport
In 2016 Vera Koedooder began a master's degree in sports management at the Johan Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam , which she graduated in 2017. She was also involved in various commissions in Dutch sports associations. In February 2018, for example, she became chairwoman of the alumni association she initiated of the Dutch cycling association KNWU for former racing drivers. In January 2018 she founded her own company Koerage Cycling Concepts .
