The Association of Jewish Religious Communities in the Republic of Poland ( Polish: Związek Gmin Wyznaniowych Żydowskich w RP , abbreviated to ZGWŻ ) is a religious organization of Jews in Poland .

It was originally founded in 1949 as Związek Religijny Wyznania Mojżeszowego (Religious Association of the Mosaic Confession). In 1992 the organization was renamed Związek Gmin Wyznaniowych Żydowskich w RP. The organization is based in Warsaw , with seven branches across Poland. The association consists of eight Jewish communities in Warsaw, Krakow , Łódź , Stettin , Katowice , Bielsko-Biała and Legnica . The smaller Jewish communities are subordinate to the branches. The ZGWŻ has around 2,000 members (as of 1998). The association actively operates 7 synagogues, such as the Nożyk Synagogue in Warsaw, the Tempel Synagogue and the Remuh Synagogue in Krakow, the Reicher Synagogue in Łódź, the Synagogue in Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva in Lublin , the New Synagogue in Gdansk - Wrzeszcz and the Storch Synagogue in Wroclaw . In addition, 15 houses of prayer. The ZGWŻ publishes its own newspaper as well as the well-known Jewish calendar Kalendarz Żydowski . Paweł Wildstein was president of the ZGWŻ until 1997, Jerzy Kichler was until 2003 and Piotr Kadlčik has been president of the ZGWŻ since 2003 . The activities of the ZGWŻ are financed by the financial reserves of the association and the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). The Polish Ministry of Culture and other sponsors also finance the association.
