Verena Dietrich

Verena Dietrich (born June 30, 1941 in Wetzlar ; † April 18, 2004 in Schwerte ) was a German architect and university professor.

Live and act

Verena Dietrich studied from 1969 to 1975 Architecture at the University of Innsbruck in Othmar Barth . Then she worked in the architectural offices of Erich Schneider-Wessling , Joachim Schürmann , Friedrich Wilhelm Kraemer and Walter von Lom . In 1982 Dietrich founded her own architecture office in Cologne . In the following years she had teaching assignments at the University of Siegen , the University of the Arts in Berlin and the RWTH Aachen University , before Dietrich finally taught design at the from 1998 to 2004Dortmund University of Applied Sciences .

Verena Dietrich last lived in Schwerte . With the pedestrian bridge in Cologne's Mediapark and the grandstand in the Cologne-Höhenberg sports park , it contributed to the post-industrial urban development in Cologne . Her estate is in the archive of the German Architecture Museum . Along with Lucy Hillebrand, Dietrich is the only woman whose works have been included in the DAM collection.
