Verena Lafferentz

Verena Lafferentz , née Wagner (born December 2, 1920 in Bayreuth ; † April 19, 2019 in Nussdorf , Überlingen ) was the fourth and youngest child from Siegfried Wagner's marriage to Winifred Wagner .

Life

Verena Wagner grew up in Bayreuth in the Villa Wahnfried . After finishing school, she attended the Reifensteiner School in Obernkirchen in the 1936/37 class.

In 1943 she married Bodo Lafferentz (1897–1975), an SS officer and party member of the NSDAP who, as a functionary of the organization " Kraft durch Freude ", was responsible for ticket sales for the Bayreuth Festival .

She had five children with Lafferentz: Amelie (* 1944), Manfred (* 1945), Winifred (* 1947), Wieland (* 1949) and Verena (* 1952).

In 2003 she was invited - together with Birgit Nilsson , Wolfgang Wagner and Gudrun Wagner  - to the Copenhagen International Wagner Congress under the patronage of the Danish Prince Consort Henrik , where she attended a performance of Die Walküre in the new Copenhagen Opera as the guest of honor . She was involved in the board of trustees of the Richard Wagner Foundation Bayreuth and was involved in the redesign of the Richard Wagner Museum .
