The Publishing Law and Economics GmbH was a legal publishing house , based in Frankfurt , whose magazines and books be published today by the publishing industry trade media law and economics within the dfv media group.
The specialist publisher, which has been the dfv media group since January 1, 2014, acquired shares of 30% from the then managing and sole shareholder Angelika Sauer at the beginning of 2001. At that time, the publishing house was located at the place where the publishing house was founded in Heidelberg . The shares were increased to 60% in 2002, the turnover in 2001 was approx. 7 million euros. After the complete takeover in 2003, the publishing house moved to the headquarters of Deutsches Fachverlag in Frankfurt in 2004.
The magazine with the highest turnover is the weekly legal journal Betriebs-Berater (BB), which focuses on business and tax law. Other published journals with their own editorial team are Communication and Law (K&R), Law of International Economics (RIW), European Economic and Tax Law (EWS), Network Economics and Law (N&R) and Der Steuerberater (DStB). The journal for comparative jurisprudence (ZVerglRWiss) and the journal for all commercial law and business law (ZHR) are supervised by external editors . The latter appears as the oldest title in the publishing house since 1858. The legal journals of the dfv media group, Competition in Law and Practice (WRP), magazine for environmental policy & environmental law (ZfU) and magazine for the entire food law (ZLR) are published by the publishing division Law and Economics of dfv media group relocated.
The latest title is Recht der Finanzinstrumenten (RdF), the first edition of which appeared on January 17, 2011.
The Law and Economics publishing division continues to maintain a range of legal textbooks with around 300 available titles.
The independent publishing house Recht und Wirtschaft was dissolved on December 31, 2011. It was incorporated into the German specialist publisher as a separate legal and economic publishing division.
The publishing division continues to maintain a portfolio of digital media. These include, above all, the R&W online database with the digital archives of specialist legal publications.
