Vern Poore

Vern Poore (* 20th century) is an American sound engineer . In 1989 he was awarded an Oscar for “Best Sound Mixing” for the biography Bird about the jazz musician Charlie Parker .

Life

Poore worked on over 72 films between 1975 and 1996 and was nominated for an Oscar four more times. He delivered his first work in 1975 for the television film Geliebte Geisel ( Sweet Hostage ), where he and other colleagues were responsible for the final sound mix. The multiple award-winning drama Taxi Driver (1976) was next on his list. In 1984 he participated in the science fiction - Fantasy - Comedy Ghostbusters - Ghostbusters with and in 1987 at the action film Lethal Weapon - Lethal Weapon . He was also on the film staff in Clint Eastwood's Late West Merciless (1992) . Poore's last listed film is the 1995 drama The Whimsical Mr. Cox .
