Les Fresholtz

Les Fresholtz (born before 1970) is an American film and sound engineer who not only received two Oscars , but also the BAFTA Award for best sound .

biography

Les Fresholtz began in the late 1960s as a film and sound engineer for Hollywood film productions and first worked on Bob Rafelson's Head (1968) in the creation of a film.

He received his first Oscar nomination for best sound at the 1970 Academy Awards, along with Arthur Piantadosi for Lost in Space . This was followed by nominations for an Oscar in the category of best sound in 1974 with Richard Portman for Paper Moon (1973) and in 1976 with A. Piantadosi, Richard Tyler and Al Overton Jr. for 700 miles westward .

At the 1977 Academy Awards , he and A. Piantadosi, Rick Alexander and James E. Webb won the Oscar for Best Sound in The Untouchables (1976). At the same time he was nominated for a British Academy Film Award (BAFTA Award) for the best sound for the first time with these and Milton C. Burrow in 1977 .

In 1979 he won the BAFTA Award for Best Tone in War with Sam F. Shaw , Robert R. Rutledge , Gordon Davidson , Gene Corso , Derek Ball , Don MacDougall , Bob Minkler , Ray West , Michael Minkler , Richard Portman and Ben Burtt The Stars - Episode IV: A New Hope (1977).

For the sound in the film Merciless (1992) he was with V. Poore, R. Alexander and Rob Young on the one hand for the 1993 Oscar in the category of best sound, on the other hand again with AR Murray, Walter Newman , R. Young, V Poore and R.
