Don MacDougall

Donald W. MacDougall is a sound engineer who received the Oscar for Best Sound in addition to nominations for various awards .

Life

One of the first films in which Don MacDougall was involved as a sound engineer, the animated film was The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat in 1974. It was followed in 1975 the musical film Funny Lady , for MacDougall, along with Richard Portman , Curly Thirlwell and Jack Solomon at the Academy Awards in 1976 for the Oscar in the category " Best sound was nominated." Two years later, two more nominations followed at the 1978 Academy Awards in this category, one for Close Encounters of the Third Kind and the other for the science fiction film Star Wars by George Lucas . For Star Wars he was awarded the film prize along with Ray West , Bob Minkler and Derek Ball . MacDougall was also nominated for an Oscar in 1979 and 1980. In total, he worked on more than 130 cinema and television films as a sound engineer, and in the 1990s he also took on this role in several series, including the X-Files and Millennium . Most recently, in 1999, he worked on an episode of the cartoon series Expedition of the Gooseberries and the film drama Jungle of Dangers .
