action
The owner of the house cat Tom and the mouse Jerry forgets both of them when they move to the old house. It is being torn down and Tom and Jerry wander hungry through the streets and meet the street dog Lumpi and the flea Jean-Paul. From the two they learn to become friends and are invited to "dinner". Despite the “friend sermon”, Tom locks Jerry under a flower pot so that he cannot eat. At the same time Lumpi is caught by the trash cans by dog catchers and dragged away. Tom is chased by other street cats who accidentally free Jerry. He helps Tom against the other cats and they both become real friends.
After following a dark figure, they meet little Robyn Starling, who believes her father was killed in an avalanche and now she has to live with her evil aunt Innozenzia Fies. Then she tells Tom and Jerry about a secret hut that only she and her father knew and where they spent every summer. At the same time, Aunt Fies plays to the police that they are worried about the runaway girl and that they miss her. But to Robyn's lawyer she shows that she is only interested in the money that she gets to look after the girl. When Robyn is brought back to Aunt Fies by the police, she brings Tom and Jerry with her and is allowed to keep them. However, the two are not accepted by Innozenzia's dog Ferdinand, so that a battle soon breaks out in the kitchen.
When Aunt Fies learns that Robyn's father is still alive, she wants to keep the news a secret from her. After Jerry tries to tell Robyn about their father's survival, he and Tom are locked in a cage by Aunt Fies and taken to Dr. Hannibal dog biscuit brought to the shelter. But the two of them can free themselves and the other captured animals, including Lumpi and Jean-Paul. When they finally report to Robyn that their father is alive, she flees to look for him. She sets off on a raft with Tom and Jerry while Aunt Fies and lawyer Schmeichel offer Robyn a million dollar reward. However, Tom Jerry and Robyn are caught by a ship and are separated. Robyn passes out and arrives at the amusement park Käpt'n Kiddies Kinderland, where she regains consciousness. Captain Kiddie is initially very nice to Robyn and gives her cookies and milk, but then he lures Robyn onto a Ferris wheel and lets her sit there alone for the first time when he hears about the reward. Tom and Jerry soon arrive on the island and after a call from Captain Kiddie to Aunt Fies, Dr. Hundekuch and his buddies on the way to the island. After their arrival on the island, a wild chase begins in which everyone tries to catch Robyn, Tom and Jerry, hindering each other. Dr. Hundekuch, his cronies and Captain Kiddie are soon out of the running.
Finally Robyn is trapped in the wooden hut "Robyns Nest" with Aunt Fies and Schmeichel, Tom and Jerry are locked out. Robyn is able to free herself, but the hut goes up in flames. Aunt Fies and Schmeichel crash on the speedboat due to a mishap and it starts up by itself. Eventually, Robyn's father arrives in a helicopter because he found out his daughter had run away and knew where to find her. Robyn is saved by her father. Tom and Jerry fall into the water with the burning hut, but luckily they are unharmed. When Robyn finds Tom and Jerry, the friends embrace. Robyn gives Tom and Jerry a new, luxurious home, where they resume their old arguments and damage the interior.
