Richard John Kind (born November 22, 1956 in Trenton , New Jersey ) is an American actor and voice actor .

Life

Richard J. Kind was born in Trenton to the jeweler Samuel Kind and his wife Alice. He and his younger sister Joanne grew up in Bucks County , Pennsylvania . He attended Pennsbury High School until 1974 and then studied law at Northwestern University until 1978 ( pre-law ).

After graduating there, he was supposed to continue his studies at a law school, but on the advice of a friend of his father's, Kind decided to try acting for a year. So he moved to New York and made his way there as a waiter and window dresser. Eventually he went to Chicago , where he became a member of the theater group The Second City and appeared in comedic productions such as How Green Were My Values , John, Paul, Sartre and Ringo and True Midwest . After four years of engagement, he moved to Los Angeles and played in the local Second City group. He then played in many television productions.

Richard J. Kind is best known for his roles in Crazy About You (Dr. Mark Devanow) and Chaos City (Paul Thomas Lassiter). He also appeared in another Bill Lawrence production , Scrubs , in a supporting role as the hypochondriac Harvey Corman . Among other things, he is also represented with short guest appearances in the series Die Nanny , Ehe ist ... and Stargate Atlantis . Kind has also appeared in various Broadway productions, including Sly Fox , The Producers and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife .

As a voice actor, he lent his voice to the character Frugal Lucre in Kim Possible as well as the Disney characters Molt in Das große Krabbeln , Van in Cars , Bookworm in Toy Story 3 and Larry in Wild Animal .

He has been married to Dana Stanley since November 13, 1999 and they have three children together.
