Reviews
Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on September 24, 1993 that the film both celebrated and attacked college sports. Some characters - like that of Sam Winters - are "thin" and barely profound.
Cinema magazine wrote that the film was "full of clichés and stories" . The viewer would be "bored until the obligatory victory (...): drugs, corruption, love, father-son problems and much more" .
The lexicon of international films said: “Problem-laden, clichéd sports film, whose superficial script and banal dialogues give the characters no contours. Because the rules of the game remain incomprehensible for the uninitiated and the foreseeable plot offers no surprises, there is no tension. "
backgrounds
The film was u. a. on the site of Duke University in Durham ( North Carolina ) and on the grounds of the University of South Carolina in Columbia ( South Carolina turned). It grossed approximately $ 23 million in US cinemas .
