action

Sonny Hooper is the No. 1 stuntmen . At a charity event for an orphanage , he meets the ambitious young stuntman Ski. In a high-rise ski stunt, Sonny has to admit that ski is a promising talent among stuntmen. Although he can't stand him, he invites him to his home the next day.

After jumping from seventy meters onto a fire mat, Sonny injures himself and seeks a doctor. This informs him about his state of health and admonishes him that a single blow to the head would be enough to get paralysis from head to toe or possibly die. From Roger, Sonny and Ski learn about a daring stunt. This coup is said to bring them $ 100,000: jumping over a blown bridge in a rocket-powered car . At the hospital, Sonny learns that Jocko Doyle has had a stroke . Sonny then explains to his lover Gwen that he will quit his job as a stuntman as soon as the last film is completed. However, Gwen learns from Cully of Sonny's health and the daring rocket stunt.

Undecided to perform the stunt, producer Max Berns finally persuades him to do so, as his job is at stake. During the preparations and a short chase with a sheriff, Sonny and Ski get on better and better. After the hundred meter jump over the bridge was successful, Roger apologizes to Sonny for what had happened between them in the past. But instead of accepting the apology, he slaps Roger in the face.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films says “A kind of homage to the courageous doppelgangers of the film actors, for whom they play dangerous action scenes, sometimes spiced with turbulent slapstick. The entertainment value is reduced by the dubious ideology of masculinity and the lurid effect in places. "
