The Vernassonne (in the upper reaches: Bergnassonne ) is a river in France that runs in the Occitania region . It rises in the Montagne Noire , in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park . The source is in the municipality of Arfons , in the Tarn department . From here the river generally drains in a southerly direction, after a few kilometers it reaches the border with the neighboring Aude department and after a total of 23 kilometers flows into the Lampy as a left tributary in the municipality of Alzonne , which already reaches the Fresquel a few hundred meters further .
