Veronica Smedh (born October 8, 1988 in Sundsvall ) is a Swedish ski racer . She specializes in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Veronica Smedh took part in FIS races for the first time in December 2003 , appearances in the European Cup followed from December 2004. On November 10, 2007, she contested her first World Cup race, the slalom in Styria . At the Junior World Championship in 2008 in Formigal , Spain , she narrowly missed the medals twice (fourth in giant slalom, fifth in slalom). The 2007/2008 season of the European Cup she finished fifth in the overall and second in the slalom classification.

Veronica Smedh won World Cup points for the first time on February 15, 2008 when she finished 22nd in the slalom in Zagreb . Her best result so far is a 13th place in a giant slalom, achieved on December 13, 2008 in La Molina . This result is also her last point win in the World Cup so far, because after that she was unable to qualify for the second round in any race. Since the 2009/2010 season, she has only competed in a few World Cup races and is increasingly starting in the European Cup again. On February 7, 2013 she achieved her first victory in a European Cup race.
