Veronika Hrončeková (born January 2, 1990 in Zvolen , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak national volleyball player .

Career

Hrončeková began her career with the Slovak first division club Slávia UK Bratislava . With the club she became two Slovak champions and developed into a national player in her home country. Following the 2009/2010 season, she moved to the top Czech team VK Prostějov . With the club she was Czech champion three times in a row and won the Czech national cup in 2013.

For the 2013/14 season she moved together with Saskia Hippe to replace the long-term injured Anja Brandt for the German record champions Schweriner SC . There she signed a one-year contract. In the Champions League , she immediately met her former Czech club. However, Schweriner SC lost both games 1: 3 and was eliminated in the preliminary round of the Champions League season. In her first Bundesliga season she was unable to defend the title with the SSC, which had previously won the German championship three times in a row. In her second season, Hrončeková lost her regular place after an injury break in January 2015 and was only the third middle blocker behind Anja Brandt and Yvon Beliën . Again she could not win the national championship with the club and took third place behind Allianz MTV Stuttgart and Dresdner SC . In the DVV-Pokal 2014/15 the SSC had to admit defeat to the Stuttgart women in the quarter-finals. Also in the 2015/16 season , Hrončeková competed for the Mecklenburg women and established himself again in the starting line-up of the club after moving from Beliën to River Volley Piacenza . Again there was no national title win. By reaching the semi-finals in the CEV Cup , the team was able to celebrate the greatest international success in the club's recent history. After the season, Hrončeková announced her move: "I was very happy here, now I need a fresh start." At the end of September 2016, it was announced that Hrončeková was moving to VfB 91 Suhl . After a season in Suhl, Hrončeková moved to Romania to CSM Târgovişte . She then returned to Slovakia and is now playing for 1. BVK Bratislava .
