Architecture and history
The large, three-storey administration building of the Merck company was built in several phases between 1912 and 1920 according to plans by the architect and TH professor Heinrich Walbe . Stylistically belonging massively acting building with its developed steep mansard roof still in the era of traditionalist architecture of the period before the First World War . One of the remarkable details of the building is the entrance, which is highlighted by a gable and decorated with elaborate facade decorations.
