The administrative community Flöha was an administrative community in the Free State of Saxony . It was founded in 1995 and was located in the northwest of the district of central Saxony, about 12 km east of Chemnitz , about 22 km west of the district town of Freiberg and about 8 km south of Frankenberg . The landscape of the community area is in the northern foothills of the Ore Mountains , in the valley of the Flöha and its confluence with the Zschopau . The federal highway 173 runs through the administrative community , which is expanded to four lanes shortly after Flöha (towards Chemnitz). The federal highways 173 and 180 cross in Flöha . The federal motorway 4 runs north of the community area and can be reached via the Frankenberg junction (around eight kilometers). Flöha is also on the Chemnitz – Freiberg / Annaberg-Buchholz railway line.

On June 29 (Falkenau) and June 30 (Flöha), the municipal and city councils of Falkenau and Flöha decided on a voluntary merger effective October 1, 2011, which at the same time dissolved the administrative community.
