Administrative division of the Chechen Republic
The Chechnya Republic in the North Caucasus Federal District of the Russian Federation has been divided into 17 Rajons and 2 urban districts since 2012 . In 2010, a total of 4 urban and 219 rural communities were subordinate to the Rajons.

Rajons
The following table shows the structure of the Chechen Republic up to 2012. This year, two new rajons were created: the Galantschoschski rajon based in the village of Galantschosch (from the southern part of the Achchoi-Martanowski rajon and the western part of the Itum-Kalinski rajon) and the Cheberlojewski rajon based in Sharo-Argun (from the eastern part of the Shatoiski rajon and the southern part of the Wedenski rajon).
