Vicenç Pagès i Jordà
Vicenç Pagès i Jordà (born December 14, 1963 in Figueres , Catalonia ) is a writer and professor who writes in Catalan . Pagès is a part-time professor at Ramon Llull University where he teaches Catalan and Aesthetics . He lives in Torroella de Montgrí .
He made his debut in 1989 with the short story La febre groga ("Yellow Fever"). This was followed in 1990 by the anthology of short stories Cercles d'infinites Combinacions ("circles of infinite combinations"), which was awarded the City of Palma Prize. His first essay, a critical study of literary prizes with a collection of a thousand citations, Grandeses i misèries dels premis literaris (“The Size and Misery of Literary Prizes ”) appeared in 1991. His first major literary work is El Món d'Horaci (“The world of Horace ”), a cross between fiction and creative essay. From 2010 to 2011 he was a columnist for the Avui newspaper .
