Victor Garaygordóbil Berrizbeitia

Victor Garaygordóbil Berrizbeitia (born October 17, 1915 in Amaitermin , Abadiño municipality, Province of Bizkaia , Spain ; † April 24, 2018 in Bilbao ) was a Spanish clergyman and prelate of Los Ríos .

Life

Victor Garaygordóbil Berrizbeitia received on 27 June 1943, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 29, 1963 as Prelate of Los Ríos and Titular Bishop of Pudentiana . The Apostolic Nuncio in Ecuador , Archbishop Alfredo Bruniera , donated him episcopal ordination on January 30 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were César Antonio Mosquera Corral , Archbishop of Guayaquil and Nicanor Carlos Gavinales Chamorro , Bishop of Portoviejo .

He attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On January 5, 1978 he renounced his titular bishop's seat in the course of the new allocation guidelines of the Roman Curia . On May 12, 1982 Pope John Paul II accepted his early resignation.
