Jesús Ramón Martínez de Ezquerecocha Suso (born August 31, 1935 in Jungaitu , Spain , † February 16, 2013 in Vitoria-Gasteiz ) was Bishop of Babahoyo .

Life

Jesús Ramón Martínez de Ezquerecocha Suso received on 9 August 1959, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He went on the mission to South America. From 1980 to 1982 he was Apostolic Administrator in the Diocese of Machala .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of Los Ríos in Ecuador on June 28, 1984 . The emeritus prelate of Los Ríos, Victor Garaygordóbil Berrizbeitia , donated him episcopal ordination on October 15, 1994 ; Co- consecrators were Juan Ignacio Larrea Holguín , Archbishop of Guayaquil and Antonio José Cardinal González Zumárraga , Archbishop of Quito . Pope John Paul II raised the territorial prelature to the diocese of Babahoyo on August 22, 1994 , the first bishop of which was Martínez de Ezquerecocha.

After his resignation for health reasons, Pope Benedict XVI. Approved on March 27, 2008, he returned to Spain and worked as a pastor.
