Annand Mahendra "Victor" Ramdin (born May 28, 1968 in Georgetown , Guyana ) is a professional American poker player .

Personal

Ramdin was born in 1968 in the Guyanese capital Georgetown and later lived a few years in the New York borough of the Bronx . There he ran several shops and invested in real estate. Today he invests heavily in the Guyana Watch project , a medical aid program for children in Guyana, the country of his birth. Ramdin lives in Toronto .

Poker career

Ramdin learned poker from friends and began participating in prestigious live tournaments in 2002.

In May 2003 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker in Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas and came into the money in two tournaments, u. a. at the Main Event , where he finished 29th for $ 35,000 in prize money . His greatest achievement is winning the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in April 2006 Foxwoods Poker Classic where he won a prize money of 1.3 million dollars.

In total, Ramdin has earned almost five million dollars playing poker in live tournaments. He was also part of Team PokerStars until 2018 under the nickname VictorRamdin .
