Victor Ruffy (born January 11, 1937 in Bern ; died March 19, 2016 in Riex , VD) was a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Victor Luffy came from a family of politicians: his great-grandfather of the same name, Victor Luffy, and his grandfather, Eugène Luffy, were both federal councilors . In contrast to his free-thinking ancestors, he was a member of the social democratic party.

After obtaining a degree in geography from the University of Lausanne , Victor Ruffy worked from 1963 to 1999 as a researcher in the field of spatial planning . In 1989 he published a dissertation on the development of the land market in the canton of Vaud. From 1989 to 1999 Luffy was President of the French- speaking section of the Swiss Association for National Planning ( ASPAN-SO ).

Victor Luffy was involved at all levels of politics, from the community to the Council of Europe. He joined Morrens' municipal politics in 1974 and was a member of the Cantonal Parliament of Vaud from 1978 to 1983 . From 1982 to 1999 he represented the canton of Vaud in the National Council . He set a focus on foreign policy and was a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the National Council and the parliamentary delegation of the Council of Europe .

In 1989/1990 he chaired the meetings of the National Council as its president .

Even after his retirement from federal politics, he remained active. For example, he led a group of Council of Europe election observers at local elections in Kosovo .

Of Albanians in Switzerland its application for membership of Albania in Euro Europe and its great support was for the Albanian Diaspora highlighted in Switzerland.
